This weekend marked the return of the NGK UAE ProCar Championship for the 2021/22 Motorsport season. It also marked the 11-year anniversary of the Dubai Autodrome and NGK partnership!

With 11 brand new Renault Clio Cup Gen 5 racecars hitting the track, thanks to TT Racing, the NGK UAE ProCar had a solid 22 car grid. Making it the largest grid in the last 10 years – to say motorsport in the UAE is growing would be an understatement! The races saw all the classes battling for the top spot with enthralling wheel-to-wheel racing throughout the weekend.

Some fresh faces taking part showed the old gun’s that the next gen has truly arrived. Eduardo Miranda the 16-year-old had a stellar weekend, claiming second place in Race 1 and first place in Race 2 of the NGK UAE ProCar Championship Clio Cup Class. Whilst Omair Al Mheiri marked his first time competing with podium finishes in both races in the GTA Class. The veteran Alexandros Annivas remains the man to beat in the GTA Class. Despite strong competition from German entrant ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport, who entered a Honda Civic FK7 (TCR) piloted by Rene Muennich.  Annivas was able to hold off the charging Rene and had a solid weekend in his Seat Cupra TCR claiming first place in both races.

The Entry List featured a total of five Emirati drivers spread over three classes, achieving podium finishes in all races and taking home three trophies in Race 1 and four in Race 2 after fierce battles during the 25-minute sprint races.
