Young Emirati karting ace to inspire student racers
Dubai, UAE, 27 November 2017: UAE karting sensation Rashid Al Dhaheri will take on the role of Emirates Schools Karting Championship (ESKC) Ambassador to help introduce Emirati students into the racing series.
The ESKC was founded in 2015, under the patronage of ATCUAE President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, with the intent of providing students across the UAE a platform to participate in competitive kart racing. The series aims to encourage students to adopt and learn new skill sets which will help them later in life, while at the same time enjoy the competitive fun of karting.
At only nine years of age, Rashid Al Dhaheri has already made a tremendous impact on the local karting scene. He has won a record four times in the Dubai O Plate Championship, he has multiple Sodi World Series (SWS) and Bambino Cup victories and he is the current IAME X30 Cadet Champion.
This summer Rashid took his talents to Italy, taking podium and race victories along the way. He is currently one of the top Cadet Class drivers in the world. Rashid hopes to use this experience to empower young Emiratis to learn the skills of racing in the ESKC.
Rashid said, “I wish to see more Emiratis join. You will learn about time management, strategy and teamwork. Create a team of three or four friends and bring a teacher or parent along.”
Entries are still open to add a team. The ESKC Senior rounds (for ages 13-18 years old) are currently underway and the ESKC Junior rounds (for ages 7-12 years old) will start in January 2018.
