Dubai, UAE, 16 May 2018: Cycle enthusiasts in the region now have a new family event on the calendar with the inaugural competition of the Union Properties Ramadan Cycle Challenge set to commence on Monday night, 4 June 2018 at Dubai Autodrome.
Registration has opened online for the event, which will feature three categories of criterium cycle racing: Male Open Challenge (ages 18 years or older), Female Open Challenge (ages 18 years or older), and Junior Challenge (ages 12 to 17 years old). Entries close on Friday, 1 June 2018.
Operated by the cycling experts at Hopatec Sports Services, the criterium (or crit) will consist of several laps around the 2.46km Club Circuit at Dubai Autodrome. The Male Open Challenge will last 60 minutes, the Female Open Challenge for 45 minutes and the Junior Challenge finishes after 30 minutes. At the conclusion of the timed races, a bell will be rung to signal a final sprint lap.
The overall winner is the first rider to cross the finish line, but there will be also be rankings and medals for the fastest sprint lap, fastest lap, top positions and the fastest Emirati rider.

Dubai Autodrome General Manager Faisal Al Sahlawi said, “This will be the first family cycle challenge to hit Dubai Autodrome’s circuit during the Holy Month of Ramadan. We are looking forward to welcoming cycling enthusiasts for a great night of racing.”
The Union Properties Ramadan Cycle Challenge is supported by Hopatec, Daman, TAG Heuer and Revolution Cycles.
