LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO RETURNS TO DUBAI AUTODROME
Series confirmed at Union Properties pavilion of Cityscape Global

Dubai, UAE, 25 September 2017:  Following the successful debut of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East last February, the popular racing series has been officially confirmed for its second season.

At the Union Properties pavilion of Cityscape Global (11-13 September), Chief Executive Officer of Union Properties, Ahmed Khouri, presided over the signing ceremony between the Super Trofeo Series Coordinator, Federica Teneggi, and the General Manager of Dubai Autodrome, Faisal Al Sahlawi.

The Middle East series is the latest edition of Lamborghini Super Trofeo championships that started in Europe, Asia and North America.  The grids are only open to Huracán Super Trofeos, ensuring that races are determined primarily on driver ability.

Head of Motorsport Lamborghini, Giorgio Sanna, commented, “In February 2017, we launched the Super Trofeo Middle East, the fourth continental series of the Lamborghini one-make series. This was an important addition to the consolidated formats of Europe, Asia and North America, a further step to prove ourselves a reference point in the customer racing field.”

“Following the success achieved last year and thanks to the positive feedback from our teams and drivers, we are pleased to reconfirm our presence in the Middle East and return to the Dubai Autodrome soon.”

The race series will have two rounds at Dubai Autodrome, joining National Race Day Power Weekends on 16-17 February 2018 and 2-3 March 2018.

General Manager of Dubai Autodrome, Faisal Al Sahlawi, said, “Watching a full grid of Lamborghini Huracáns thundering around the track is quite a spectacle, so we’re looking forward to bringing back this exciting series.”

The formula of the Lamborghini one-make series will be the same as the 2017edition: three double rounds, all in the United Arab Emirates.  Each race weekend will have two 20-minute qualifying sessions, and then two 50-minute races, with rolling starts and mandatory pit stops.

The class composition will also be the same, divided into PRO, PRO-AM, AM, and Lamborghini Cup.
