Kumaran, Kurdali and Naylor Rock the Ramadan Challenge

Dubai, UAE, 5 May 2021:  The fourth and final round of the 2021 Ramadan Challenge finished on Monday (3 May) with three new champions crowned at the end to the night at Dubai Kartdrome.

The event was loaded with prizes, courtesy of IAME UAE, Brand Racing and Dojomoto Racing.

Kyle Kumaran demolished the Senior Cup field, going four-for-four on his way to a perfect run in the championship chase.  Former two-time champ Romaldo Labrooy battled the leader in every round, but Kumaran left behind only second-place table scraps for Labrooy each time.

In the age 35 and over category, Sam Naylor managed to upset the multiple SWS champion Atef Al Barwani and take home the Masters Cup crown.  It was close contest, with each driver grabbing two class wins, but Naylor’s consistently higher point hauls assured him the title.

Sultan Kurdali was almost faultless in the Junior Cup, dropping only one round out of four to secure the championship title over fierce competitor Arthur De Doncker.

Dubai Kartdrome Manager David Bright said, “The annual Ramadan Challenge is the highlight of the year for the popular SWS community.  Four weeks of back-to-back racing, with unique formats and large starting grids, utilizing four different circuit layouts – means exciting and close racing.  Lots of superb prizes were up for grabs thanks to our sponsors IAME UAE, Brand Racing and Dojomoto, who all continuously support grass roots motorsport in the UAE.”

Next up is the Dubai Autodrome Karting Festival (26-29 May) and Bright added, “For now we look forward to our karting festival at the end of the month, which will include both SWS Sprint and Endurance races, to be held on the main Dubai Autodrome circuit for the very first time.’’
