Khalifa Al Qubaisi Wins National Day Fastest Lap Competition

Dubai, UAE, 13 December 2018:  Following the popular National Day Fastest Lap Competition at Dubai Kartdrome (30 November-3 December), Emirati driver Khalifa Al Qubaisi was awarded prizes from Airlink International and Reem Al Bawadi for topping the contest with an incredible lap time of 1.08.10.

Some of the best Kartdrome regulars had a go during the four-day competition, including Anjum Sheikh, Alex Connor, Allen Khoury and Charles Dexter.

On the first day another Emirati, Mohammed Ali, spearheaded the contest with a best lap time of 1.10.86.  The time wouldn’t stand, but it was still good enough to earn Mohammed a AED 500 voucher from the beloved Levant restaurant, Reem Al Bawadi.

Appropriately, the best lap time would come on National Day itself, from a young Emirati ace who drives for VDR Racing in the Emirates Schools Karting Championship (ESKC).

On Sunday night (2 December) at 9pm, 14-year old Khalifa Al Qubaisi drove an inspired lap around the International Circuit at Dubai Kartdrome, jumping to the top of the driver board with an untouchable time of 1.08.10.

The astounding lap earned Al Qubaisi AED 1500 worth of Reem Al Bawadi vouchers, as well as an amazing holiday trip to Baku, Azerbaijani courtesy of Airlink International, the Official Logistics Partner for Dubai Autodrome.

Dubai Kartdrome Manager David Bright said, “The National Day Fastest Lap Competition was well received and it created a fun atmosphere as our regulars tried their best to lay claim of being the fastest driver and to win fantastic goodies along the way.”

“We will be doing similar activations going forwards and I would like to say thanks to Reem Al Bawadi and Airlink International for supporting this event.”
