F4UAE Championship Round Four Preview

Dubai, UAE, 17 February 2020: Now in its fourth season, the F4UAE Championship powered by Abarth has had its strongest season to date. Having started in 2016, F4UAE has been a platform for young karting drivers to hone their race craft prior to making the leap into competitive open-wheeler racing in Europe.

This year’s season began with a stellar support event at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November 2019 – a first for the category – where drivers raced in front of their F1 heroes for bragging rights.

Round 1 of the championship followed in January 2020 as a support to the Hankook 24H Dubai endurance race at Dubai Autodrome, where Italian rookie Francesco Pizzi took a hat trick of race victories in his first weekend racing formula cars.

He’s gone on to win a total of six races, with other winners being his Xcel Motorsport teammate Nicola Marinangeli, the BWT Mücke Motorsport duo of Nico Göhler from Germany and rookie Erick Zuniga from Mexico, plus local Emirati racer Hamda Al Qubaisi who won her first open wheeler race in F4UAE.

This year’s championship sees three GCC drivers compete, with Al Qubaisi impressing with not just her race victory but scoring all three pole positions so far, while KSA’s Reema Juffali for Dragon Racing and the UAE’s Abdulrahman Al Bloushi for Dragon Racing also are flying the local flags proudly.

This weekend sees Round Four of the F4UAE Championship return to Dubai Autodrome, as well as the grand finale which will be run at the Dubai circuit from March 6-7, 2020.
