Congratulations NGK Spark Plugs Middle East: 15 Years

Dubai, UAE, 16 October 2017:  NGK Spark Plugs Middle East celebrated its 15th anniversary of business in the UAE with a spectacular gala dinner held at Armani Hotel in the iconic Burj Khalifa skyscraper (3 October).  As one of NGK’s key partners for past six years, Dubai Autodrome was privileged to have company ambassadors attend the event.

The loyal partnership of NGK Spark Plugs East and Dubai Autodrome now moves into its seventh season with the NGK Racing Series, which will kick off on the 17th of November for the first championship round of 2017-2018 Motorsport season.

Launched in September 2011, the NGK Racing Series has become the heart and soul of National Race Days.  It features three racing series of six classes combined into one grid, with GTs, Touring Cars and Clio Cup cars all battling it out together in one race.  Points are awarded for each round and class champions are crowned at the end of the season.

NGK Spark Plugs Middle East is not just a series partner; the company also shows it enthusiastic support by hosting a tent in the race paddock at every National Race Day and also at the renowned Hankook 24H Dubai.  NGK ambassadors hand out trophies to the winning drivers and the endearing NGK Spark Plug mascots are icons of the start grid.

The gala dinner at Armani Hotel celebrated fifteen years of success in the region.  Among the attendees were valuable customers from the region and top management from Japan and other global subsidiaries.

NGK Middle East begun its journey in the year 2000, by establishing a liaison office in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai with only 2 employees. It expanded to dedicated warehouse establishment with an area of 1,000 square meters in 2002, estimated optimistically to serve the Africa and CIS countries in 2003.

Building on its core competitiveness and quality service, the company grew bigger and currently employs 31 associates. The office area spans 12,000 square meters within JAFZA and serves 71 countries of Middle East, Africa, CIS and the South Asia region. The company aims to grow even further to retain its market leadership.

NGK Spark Plug is one of the leading automotive suppliers and specializes in the fields of ignition and sensor technology. The company supplies customers in original equipment and aftermarket across the globe. Its product portfolio comprises spark plugs, glow plugs, ignition coils and ignition leads under the brand NGK Ignition Parts as well as mass air flow and manifold absolute pressure sensors, lambda sensors, exhaust gas temperature sensors and NOx sensors under the brand NTK Vehicle Electronics.

The company runs production plants and sales organizations all over the world. With a total of 13,000 employees, it generates an annual turnover of around 2.7 billion euros. NGK is represented on all continents and has 43 group companies, 24 production plants, and 5 technical centres.
